Synopsis

In this short movie featuring familiar characters from Azumanga Daioh, Osaka is yet again having a strange dream of Chiyo-Chan's pigtails being posessed. As Chiyo-Chan's pigtails bounce out of the window, who knows if young Chiyo will ever be happy again.

To find her pigtails, she crossed the sea of lettuce…
    Traversed the carrot mountains…
Looked for them in the northern lights…
She travelled around the world for them…

The beginnings of greatness are found in a fluidly animated short that features classic Azumanga Daioh storylines all packed in perfectly into 4 minutes. It feels so weird to see the characters animated in such a way after seeing the show itself twice (and rewatching it for the third time at time of writing), but it works for conveying what the show and manga were all about in those 4 minutes. Definitely worth checking out at least once, incredibly silly as anything to do with Azumangais.

Anime Marches On 2019 Challenge: 3 of 5 2000's Anime

I have really always preferred the manga to the anime. The manga makes me laugh a lot. The anime never quite translated as well for me. I still like it though. This is a 5 minute movie centered around Chiyo-chan's pigtails falling off and a bunch of other Azumanga Daioh things happening for no real reason. But it doesn't need a reason. It made me laugh a couple of times and Chiyo is always really cute and Sakaki gets bitten by a cat. She'll never learn will she?

Holy shit!, this was a comedic riot from beginning to end. I was laughing the entire time, every joke landed for me mainly because I love films like this with so much creative and random humor and this delivered. I say this is one of the funniest films I’ve seen and I highly recommend this, y’all not be disappointed one bit.
